Pretzel Kids® certification is run by the teacher training faculty at Breathe Joy Yoga, a registered 200-hour yoga school with the Yoga Alliance. We are one of the very few children's yoga teacher certification programs designed specifically for yoga teachers and aspiring yoga teachers (experienced yoga practitioners and school teachers are invited to call for more information). This is by design. We take yoga very seriously (although we also laugh a lot!) and as such, every Pretzel Kids® yoga teacher represents our brand and is an ambassador for excellence on every level. More than that, we want every school, studio or any other location hiring one of our teachers to feel confident that our yoga teachers know how to safely guide and instruct children in the practice of yoga. To boot, we want parents to know that their children are being taught by teachers who meet our high educational standards.
So what else sets us apart? Teaching yoga to children is vastly different than teaching yoga to adults. In the adult class, students listen to instructions and are interested in following your every direction. This is simply not so in a children's class. The Pretzel Kids® curriculum has been developed by classroom teachers who have the knowledge and expertise to help you understand and successfully work with the particular emotional and development needs of specific age groups of children. As a result, graduates of our program will not only know how to structure a children's yoga class but how to manage one as well! That's not all! What: 25-hour Pretzel Kids® Teacher Training and Tools for Business Success Running PK classes! (CE credits available.) When: March 20&21! Saturday: 8-5:30 pm
Sunday: 9-6:30 pm
(plus outside homework and teaching or assisting 2 karma Pretzel Kids® classes)
During this immersive and imaginative course you will learn how to plan, structure, sequence and lead fun, imaginative and creative yoga classes for children ages 3-17 AND create your own lesson plans.
You will also learn:
- How to Bring Yoga into School Settings
- Yoga Activities, Themes and Games
- Specific Meditation and Pranayama Techniques for Children
- How to Teach Yoga to Children with Special Needs, Disabilities and Health Issues (such as ADHD, Anxiety, and Asthma)
- How to Control and Facilitate a Class in a Safe, Non-Competitive Way
- How to Market Yourself and Promote Your Pretzel Kids® Classes in Your Community
- How to Achieve Success and Leverage the Pretzel Kids® Brand! You won't find this training in almost any other children's yoga teacher training program in the area! Being a great kid's yoga teacher is VERY important! But, turning what you love to do (teach yoga to children) into a LUCRATIVE business is a winning equation for you, your community,the children you teach, and the parents you serve. If you can teach yoga to children, why not learn how to achieve success with an incredible brand (that will soon be nationwide)? Location, location, location may be a key factor when purchasing real estate, but brand, brand, brand is equally important when building a service business. *This portion of the training will be taught by a business consultant and licensing attorney with years of experience working with start-up companies and Fortune 500 corporations.
Once you have completed the course, you will assist Petzel Kids® classes taught by our seasoned staff or teach two karma classes. After this, you will complete observation logs (completing the final hours of training). Upon certification, you will have the opportunity to teach as part of our growing corporate staff. You will also have the licensing rights to use the Pretzel Kids® name, brand, logo and marketing materials so that you can run your own classes. Your information and class locations will be listed on our website and you will have discounts on Pretzel Kids® clothing and our line of branded yoga accessories (coming soon!)
Prerequisites: You should be a yoga teacher or teacher training student OR an aspiring yoga teacher. We invite experienced yoga practitioners and school teachers to call so we can discuss this program with you in more detail.
Your Cost: (includes training course, Pretzel Kids® teaching manual, business/branding guidebook, ongoing manual updates and additions, first year licensing fee, Pretzel Kids® T-shirt, and branding support): $599.
*Payment and Refund Policy: You can opt to pay in full (either online with a credit card or by check) or pay a 50% deposit by Feb. 28, the remainder of which is due upon commencement of the course on March 21. To reserve your space, please include either payment in full or a 50% deposit with your application, plus an additional $20 application fee. The deposit amount (or 50% of your payment in full) is non-refundable if you cancel less than one week before the commencement of the training program. If you cancel more than one week before the certification begins, your payment will be refunded, minus a $100 administrative fee.
